    Vicious Fluorocarbon

Does anyone have any experiece with this line. How is the line memory? Pricing looks too good to be true for a good quality line. I'm wondering if I should stick with XPS and Seguar of give Vicious a try. Fluorocarbon line is getting rediculous in price. I heard the best Fluoro out there is Sunline Shooter but I'm not giving $35 for 200yds of line. That's just stupid.

Yes, too good to be true IMO, I posted back this spring asking about Fluro's and I have tried most if not all of them and I rate the Vicious line way WAY, down the scale for memory. I broke off way too many fish to trust it any longer. The seaguar is the best line for the money as I've said before I personally don't like the carbon pro, I love the InvizX, haven't got a chance to fish with the AbrazX just yet - all my research finds the guys that have said it was much the same as the InvizX. You will find some that like this and don't like that but if you listen to the majority Seaguar is the way to go (or stay with in your case) again JMHO

My Fiance's Uncle uses it and gets sponsored by Vicious, so he turned me on to it last year. I used all last year and I am pretty impressed with it, I only used on my Flippin' rod & a crankin' rod last year, but am going to use for alomost all applications this year. Very strong line, Memory is good, price is great. I say give it a try.

I don't care for it that much it does have alot of memory. Just run two fingers down the line you can feel the inconsistencies of the line. The diameter is huge. 6lb looks like 10lb. Sunline is good but I didn't have to pay for it either. InvisX is still my go to line for clear deep water.

Might as well add my 2 cents. I bought one spool last summer. I thought it was very strong stuff but couldn't deal with the memory. Maybe some line conditioner would've helped? Good price though...

Using the 12 and 6lb. It does have some memory that clears out as soon as it gets wet. For the price, it's better than most. I've been buying from Legallimitlures. Jeff's getting it to me with shipping for around $30 for a 800 yd spool. [email protected] and legallimitlures.com

I always apply line conditioner when loading and follow all the preventive techniques in this article. http://www.dalehollowfishing.com/fis...nu-id-174.html

I can also recommend XPS and Seagar Invizix. I would buy these brands if you fish less than 10 times or less per year.

Ok, you guys open my eyes. I've used several brands of floro with no luck. I liked the gold Berkley bcause it's so visible, but it breaks every other hook set. All brands I've tried except p-line fray and nick and break something awful. And p-line is as big as well rope. I've never tried Invizix, why would it only be good if I fished a few times a year? I fish 2-3 times a week, but I change line often. I never tried floro on spinning reels, it seems too stiff, Can it be used on spinning? How is it in the cold? Do I need to tie a special knot? Are you saying you put conditioner on the line when you put it on the reel? Help me out, please.

I was on the bassboatcentral web site the other night and they had a discussion on this very topic. There were a couple of guys on there from Texas that said they use Cabelas brand fluorocarbon line not only because of price but because Seaguar makes it for them. It might be worth a try.

The reason for purchasing a more expensive brand would be...
    A. You fish tournaments where every fish counts.
    B. You only fish a few times a year and you don't want to chance equipment issues with that little time.

Every line is at some point going to wear out and you'll need to take it off. This is why I'm always looking for a cheaper alternative. Vicious is treating me right so far.

Spinning is where I use the 6 and yes I apply the line conditioner to the line while loading it and then again before I start fishing. I use the KVD pump spray. 2-3 blasts with that and you've covered your line.

I've fished with it down to the low 20s with no problem. It will freeze if you apply it out on the water in really cold temps though so I'd do it before and then practice good maintenance.

The Palomar is the knot to tie. Here is how to tie it so you don't burn the line.

the 10 to 12 times? InvizX is my go to line on the rods that need Fluro for certain fishing situations, I am on KY/Barkley lakes a minimum of 100 days a year flippin' pitchin' and casting my rear off and this line has been the most subtle line I've found in the price range. And Seaguar to my knowledge makes line for many different manufacturers so you may want to see where they make it for and try, the cabelas thing is very interesting.

This line will never be in my reels again as long as I live, Everything about it is horrible. I broke off several fish with this sub-par flouro. Bite the bullit and buy you some invisx.

While we are talking about flurocarbon lines wold anyone tell me how the new Berkley 100% fluorocarbon is. I have used it and have not broke a fish off yet but half the time when I go to cinch my knot down it breaks on me. Just wondering what you guys have to say about it.
