Re: Predictions.........what will the New Admin change FIRST.

Here is an article about the WMD that were never found in Iraq, and why President Bush should be put in prison for invanding Iraq without just cause.

A national defense analyst says President Bush should be commended for keeping quiet about a discovery that could have blown his critics out of the water.

Retired Major General Jerry Curry is a decorated combat veteran who served as an Army aviator, paratrooper, and Ranger during a military career that began during the Korean conflict. He recently wrote on his blog about a very under reported story by the Associated Press.

According to the report, a large stockpile of concentrated natural Uranium, known as "yellowcake," reached a Canadian port to complete a top secret U.S. Operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad, and a ship voyage crossing two oceans. The Uranium material had been housed at a former Iraqi nuclear complex 12 miles from Baghdad.

Curry says the president kept mum about the discovery in order to keep terrorists in the dark. "He made a very brave stand, a resolute stand..., in which he decided that he wasn't going to blab everything to the press," Curry commends. "...And in the meantime while he kept it quiet, he was buying time from the terrorists to get all that stuff out of the country. So that's what was done -- he just very quietly kept his mouth shut."

"The press beat him to death for the last several years," he continues, "and now it turns out that, yes, there were weapons of mass destruction...." Curry also maintains that Saddam Hussein had an active nuclear program and the material could have been made into a nuclear weapon.

President Bush's actions took courage, he notes, and all Americans should be thankful to have such a brave president who puts the welfare of the American people above personal considerations

This is one of the reasons I have nothing but respect for the former President of these United States, I dont care what anyone says, he held strong to his beliefs, never wavered in his strong Christian beliefs, and above all, he always had the American peoples best interest in mind, right or wrong, he absolutely loved his country, and its people.

Here's a few things he did on his first day.

Allowed for more information from the Freedom of Information Act.

More restrictions on lobbyist activities from those in his administration, plus restrictions on what his administration personnel can do after they leave related to lobbying.

Freezing salaries of about 100 White House employees making over $100K.

Nothing Earth shattering but not a bad start if you ask me and you really should ask me.

Wishin do you have a link to that story?

Thumbs down Re: Predictions.........what will the New Admin change FIRST.

Well if this salary freeze for everyone making over $ 100,000.00 a year is for the folks working in the White House....Then does this include all those working in the Senate and House of Representatives as well..? if not then why?

The House & Senate are the only types of foundations that can just input and pass a raise whenever they seem to feel like they need one. Heck they even got their own personal Retirement program set up strictly for them....

Agree it's not a bad start far as the lobbyists go, a definite step in the right direction. A change I would applaud is to COMPLETELY eliminate lobbying, and all the gifts, junkets, and other stuff that corrupts politicians.

Bet his staffers are wishing that inauguration party hadn't cost 170 million. There's nothing like getting a pay freeze when you're hungover from a party you didn't realize you were paying for. Ouch. Will he take the money saved and use it for the first lady's salary?

Good post! You'd never see CNN,NBC,CBS,etc reporting on this, they're way too busy worshiping the new administration. You should've posted this as a separate thread, be real interesting to see what the Bush haters have to say about it. Not much I'd bet.

Oh don't worry they are checking this on snopes, and any other internet check system they can find to discount this, they'll find something.

On a side note. Letting possible or probable known terrorist free from Gitmo and doing away with that camp for me is a direct slap in the face to any and all families that were affected by 911. Shame on the Libs, this is a stupid move, stupid, stupid, stupid, I'll say it again, STUPID! Anybody that is worried how we treat known terrorist and murders are quite franky idiots. I don't care if they have to pull there dang fingernails off with channel locks and poor straight sulfuric acid on the fresh wounds to get what they need from them. Whack'em, Pack'em, and Stack'em, then bulldoze dirt over them, I'M DONE!

Actually, I can't find anything on the story, anywhere. I would like to at least read the story before making up my mind on it. Right now, seems a little suspicious don't you think? Security analyst, retired Major General, his blog. Yeah, this guy is going to blab to the world about something Bush wanted to keep quiet on. If the wmd was destroyed, therefore, no longer something to worry about terrorists obtaining, why would Bush chose to keep quiet about it? Didn't he state recently that he was wrong about wmd?

Ummm, where are you seeing this???? Nothing has been decided yet on the fate of the folks at Gitmo. The order was signed to close it in a year, during which time they'll look into what to do with the people there. Note that not everyone there is a terrorist. Yes, there are some people there who should never see the light of day again. However, there are also people there who were turned in by rival gangs who may not have had any part in any terrorist plots or even associated with terrorists. Its a complex problem, not one that will be solved by whackin, stacking and packing them.

I was wondering if it was ever mentioned on Fox News because I'm sure they would have run it into the ground if true.

    Any Fox News watchers here?
