Sounds like you'll be running the kellogs/energizer/maytag/payless shoes/sonny jims sausage/land o lakes wrapped ranger next year with your Irwin love. I mean FLW is awesome, no need to get sponsors and work your way up through the ranks, just start paying the big entries and hope you make it because if you do Irwin will give you a sponsor for the day so you can wear a sweet bowling shirt on tourney day.

LOL!! I can't knock FLW because they help my class out often and they do great things for the community around here. But, I have to agree with the this. If you have deep enough pockets, you can fish the highest level they have - granted you will have some tough competition. I love the weigh - in's too, especially in the series - whatever shirt you have on, they will anounce that. Ranger shirt=Ranger Pro, No shirt-they may announce you as a up and coming pro. I have also seen them throw som in - Bass cat Shirt=motorguide pro.

You can go to the FLW website and go to "contact us" and leave any feedback that you wish. I would agree that Hackney did not get the recognition that he deserved. I would encourage you all to email FLW and tell them how you all feel about their coverage. That is the only way things will be better in the future.

When it comes to sponsorship, FLW is a joke. Why in the world wouldn't they show any coverage of Hackney when he won the overall weight for the east/west fish-off (oh yeah because because he's not sponsored by Snickers, duracell, national guard, kotex or KY jelly). The best example was when Jason Quinn entered the FLW Series tournament on Clarks Hill and they would let him run his Evan Williams wrapped boat.

I meant to say they "wouldn't" let him run his Evan Williams wrapped boat because it has to do with Alcohol which I guess they frown on. Overall I'm pretty happy with the coverage FLW and BASS have for a one hour show. However, I was dissapointed that they didn't show Hackney. Oh well, I'm not producing the shows, so I don't know what goes into it. I would rather have bad coverage than no coverage at all.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how they can improve the coverage? I've been really thinking and I can't come up with much of anything. I know Hackney got robbed but other than that I did see "fish catching" if you haven't seen it look on FLW outdoors on demand it's right there in it's entirety.

But I was thinking - they have to produce an hour long show 60 minutes - could be 2 parts but it's not) there is 20 minutes of commercials leaving 40 minutes divided by 10 anglers equals 4 minutes an angler. If they show 5 catches per angler thats less than 1 minute per catch (48 seconds), now these are basic all around numbers but what wasn't factored in was Intro, or the weigh-in, I could do without the around town segment, but I know they have to do something to promote the locals because they pay for them to come there?? I don't know how I could change the format within these time restraints, so, I guess I'm happy with it although.....

Well here are my suggestions Chris Jones gone... Next, stop trying to build up FLW pros who **** example RJ Bennett, (just cause his younger bro is good doesn't mean he needs to get air) exception is Brett Hite he had a good year with two back to backs but slowed down the rest of the year; but if your not having a good tournament I don't want to see you... Stop trying to hail your pros as the best in the world, just show who's doing good in that particular tournament. The PAA had their first tournament with all the top FLW and BASS pros and guess what the top 3 were BASS pros. Im not trying to say BASS pros are better than FLW I'm just saying I want to see big bass and people on the top of their game. I also want to learn something that I already didn't know in Fishing 101. FLW doesn't say a thing either about the winning pattern in a show. My last rant is why does it take so long to produce a show too, it takes BASS a week and takes FLW around a month. FLW can be a good program if they work on things, I can relate more to the lakes FLW fishes than BASS.

I wish they could take a hanful of FLW Pros and move them to BASS and it would be a true Elite series and leave the rest of the FLW pros with deep pockets and big egos fish on their own. I can't understand why you see the same guys getting 190th place over and over again and staying on the FLW tour. They might need to drop back down the ranks to the Strens or BFL's. Not saying I would do any better because I would probably be 191st every tournament but the difference is I know I don't belong on tour and I can admit it.

I am not being confrontational but I watched the show 2 or 3 times and they were showing "East vs West" when they showed catches by the East - they showed catches from the West and vice versa, RJ Bennet toured before Michael did as he is the older child they talk about it in the show. In fishing 101 how do they know what you don't know? I have picked up a few tips here and there most I know some I don't. Some of the older guys can tell you B.A.S.S. didn't used to put it out in a week - they have evolved, FLW is allot younger than B.A.S.S. and can catch up. I understand what you are saying/feeling but there are allot worse shows out there for instance "Bass Champs" isn't up to snuff but I watch it because of the love of the sport and I love the competition of tournament style fishing in fact my favorite show is UMF but i would like to see more than they show. JMO, again I am not being confrontational I asked earlier about how time management could be better and ideas on it.

I 100% agree that the FLW "Tour" should be the best in the world not those who can afford the entry that really haven't proved themselves anywhere else, I read the Charley Hartley blog on ESPN and that guy has proved himself... but he didn't cut the mustard last year and almost didn't make it back, and now he is an underdog that I would like to see more of because he's peeked my interest. And Chris Jones............. Bye, Bye. I would sign a petition in a minute to try to get Fish Fishburn on there!!!!
