    Re: Cumberland lake bust!!!

    RichyD,
Don't feel bad it was a bust for me as well on Saturday the first time I blanked in a long time. We have always at least caught 1-3 on a bad day but not on Saturday. I fished in Fishing Creek and there were fish there but they would not bite. They never came to the surface all day so I just fished live bait with no takers. A friend of mine which I wont mention his name since he did not catch any either had no luck as well. There were 5 boats there and I never saw a single fish get pulled out.
Normally I would just make a run somewhere else but I just toughed it out to see if they would turn on and they never did. I was more curios if they would turn on or not than I was needing to catch fish that day. If they turned on I know where to go the next day or weekend if they don't I know where not to go or at least spend much time there. There were fish there but not as many as usual so they must have moved towards the main lake with the cold weather but I never ran out to see or checked any other spots. It was pretty cold so sitting and not catching fish was warmer than finding fish.

Ladies needed to use the restroom at Riverfront Lodge, so I removed all holddown straps except the winch while we waited on them. Then, after all that, my leaf spring on the trailer broke while going 20-25 mph on the straightaway from Riverfront Lodge to the Burkesville boat ramp. Axle on the trailer bent until the tire hit the trailer frame, boat started boucing, then the whole setup flipped 90-degrees.

Think God might have been sitting next to me on the trip from Louisville to Burkesville? People could have died that day if it would have happened before I got to Burkesville.
Wow that is a tough deal for sure, I'm glad nobody was hurt.
