Big South Fork and Lake Cumberland

Hey, havent been to the BSF for a few years, what if any impact has the drawdown had on the BSF fishing. We used to do a late February trip up the BSF as far as one can go for smallies and walleye. Is this still possible and is it worth the time.

I would be more than happy to do a fishing report after our trip.

    thanks in advance.

yes. you can put in up in the river. however rocks are really bad. I had a buddy run it and said the rocks are really big and close to the the surface however walleye run came good for them. be careful and wear those life jackets. friends said its a dangerous run

I've done a 19-mile float trip where you start in Tennessee and float into Kentucky. We went in late summer both times and I wailed on the smallies in the eddies and above/below the rifles. On the second trip the river ate my SA rod and a redline reel that 'Fish' Fishburne had autographed. We floated in 14' canoes and bottomed out two or three times. We took out just after Devils Jump which we successfully ran the first time, and portaged the second. I'm not to familiar with the area though so I'm not sure how relevant this information will be. Hope it helps.
