I never have used the stuff, but I heard it worked well it is costley.
You will not get the swimming action of a live minnow. Worth a try, heck I have spent a lot of money on things that do not work for me, but we all have.

Anybody use this stuff? I am wondering about the leeches for walleye, the minnows for crappie and the sandworms for bluegill. I saw some guy on a video using leeches for blue catfish too.
I normally buy 1000 mealworms in March and that keeps me in bait all year. Bouncing them on and off the bottom lets me pick up bluegill, catfish and the occasional walleye. In ponds I catch crappie with them too, but not in Green River Lake. The crappie there will touch nothing for me that does not look like a minnow.
I also raised European grey nightcrawlers, something size wise between our red worm and nightcrawler. Due to stupidity on my part, I have mistreated them and may not have an abundant supply this summer.
I like to hurry up and go fishing on impluse, not search for bait.

Haven't u seen the commercial? It outfishes live bait 2-1?????? lol
I used the Salteater version this past summer in Mobile Bay. The shrimp WILL outfish the real thing. It stays on the hook better and the fish bite it just as well. When I was down the bait shops were out of minnows and shrimp. I used a piece of Gulp on a small hook to catch croakers to fish with. I havent used it in freshwater but I plan to this spring.
For SW, the Gulp Alive is all that and a can of worms. It REALLY DOES outfish live. Many SW anglers actually joke that using gulp alive is cheating.
Last winter I used the Gulp minnows on jigs for sauger and fished sidexside with a regular ole curly tail the gulp consistently put more and most noticeably bigger fish on the stringer, including my PB at 24"! I am a firm believe that at least the Gulp minnows is the best plastic for the river for sauger, I have yet tried the Alive version in FW though.
I own a bunch of it , and honestly "initially" it's costly but in reality it outlasts live bait so much it may be much less $$ "in the long run" and YES it works.
Leeches work great on jigs and Bottom Bouncers the bluegill etc. won't tear it off so you're fishing not dragging a bare hook which always helps IMO.
Now "two to one" I'm not sure about when they're "hot" and you're keeping live bait ON the hook . (which is much easier said than done)
I just bought some of the "crawdads" and they sure look pretty real too! Going to try them out tomorrow on Laurel River Lake with no bad luck![]()
At $30 per bucket it better outfish live bait. I will have to wait until I am really desperate before giving this stuff a try. I did buy a bottle of Gulp alive fish attractant for my jigs and soft plastics.
So far I've not spent that much $$$ I've been buying the $20 ones and they have a decent rebate going on now also FWIW![]()
i got a buckit of the gulp minnow grubs for trailers and some of the crawdads butt have not tryed them out yet. plus you can dip other baits in the sauce if you need to.
