Clinton pushed for the mortgage ease, which initially was a great idea - it helped me get my first house. However, greed made it spiral out of control.
My main concern with Bush, in terms of the financial crisis, is that this issue did not spring up overnight, and he had little to no impact on a possible solution. The stimulus checks were a joke - they had no impact on the economy. I think this was more to stimulate his perception in the eyes of the people, rather than to stimulate the economy.
