By the way, I use the word clone because a "real" AKM-47 and a "real" AKS-74 will be select fire and not semi-auto.

Imagine the damage a good ole semi auto Remington 7400 (semi auto 30-06) could do with a handful of mags?

What about knives? Didnt the guy over in Europe go on a rampage with a knife in a daycare? Should we ban those too.

Fortunately I dont think the Obama administration and this Congress of retards are dumb enough to pass a major gun bill in his first term as it will ensure him a one term president. The dems still remember how the 94 AWB cost them their majority in Congress.

Dont even get me started on "sporting arms" and the "sporting clause." Yet again, what part of "shall not be infringed" do they not under stand? Last time I read the constitution (apparently I have read it more then our law makers) it doesnt say, "...the right to keep and bear arms for sporting purposes such as hunting and shooting clay pigeons, shall not be infringed." Its says, ..:being necessary to the security of a free state..."

What is your over-under going to do if say something horrible happens to Obama and his people erupt in mass violence and chaos as they do when ever a police office shoots one of their drug dealers or thugs?
JD,

I agree with many of your comments there...especially in that the law abiding citizen who is a gun enthusiast and enjoys collecting/shooting different kinds of firearms like those will be on the short end of the stick with a ban on assault weapons. I enjoy shooting...enjoy it a lot...but I'm definitely not the "gun crazed sicko" that the media portrays most folks holding such firearms to be. Whether I'm shooting clay pigeons with a 12 gauge or shooting paper at 100 yards+ with an AR, what's the difference? Gun, Ammo, Target, and a dude who enjoys meshing all 3 together. Simple concept really.

Now, I'm not stocking up on enough guns and ammo to invade a small country because (1) I don't have that kind of cash, (2) it would be stupid of me to think I could buy every gun I ever wanted in the next little bit, and (3) I just don't see the point. I have guns that I like to shoot, carry for self defense, have around the house if they are needed, etc...I've been buying ammo for those guns as I can because personally, I think AMMO is where they're going to get us.

Things like the Ammo Accountabily Act where all muntions have to be coded with unique numbers and registered to the manufacturer/vendor/purchaser just like a firearm...and subsequentially taxed like crazy to offset the cost. That's going to be THE ISSUE if it keeps making headway. I've heard crazy notions in these bills that all handloaded ammo has to be destroyed by 2011, etc. Nuts. They don't have to come for guns if they can make ammo so hard to get that it's irrelevant.

Now, I will say that I disagree with a bit of your last comment, mostly because of the stereotype involved with it. (I'm going to assume that by "Obama and his people" you mean African Americans.) Obama's people are more than just African Americans, but I'm not going to get into that, because it goes down a road I don't want to travel...the thread's about gun control not racial stereotypes...so I'll leave my thoughts there at "I disagree" and carry on. lol
