    Re: Taylorsville? Spring?

I cannot believe what i am hearing. 100% no doubt about it, go straight to Kentucky Lake. Are you serous? Kentucky Lake is so fertile, fresh and filled with monster bass, it's the number bass lake in the country for northern strain. You can't go wrong with any tva lake, no comparrision to any of the other lakes in kentucky. Patoka lake is a nice lake don't get me wrong, better thatn the rest mentioned, but it's a no brainer.......Kentucky Lake

    Re: Taylorsville? Spring?

if you go to taylorsville dont beat the banks all day. fish a little deeper ad go early and leave early or go in the evening and stay all night. it can be good or it can be bad but i enjoy fishing it in the spring and fall when the traffic isnt as bad but with that being said i was there in late october and there was three guys in wet suits riding jet skis in front of possum ridge. i also caught my biggest LM from that lake in november on a bandit 100 series in the pearl/blk back in about 3 1/2 foot of water. a nice 5.4 beauty.

but i agree with geo and elnutt potoka can not compete with KY. if you can go, go too KY or give taylorsville a try if you need to stay closer. also why not beaver lake in lawrenceburg?

Believe he lives in Lawrenceburg Indiana. (Also the motor restriction deal at Beaver prevents some guys as well).

I like to chase the little hybrids while they're running the minnows on the surface in a canoe with ultralight tackle. But I think that is because its all I really have access to, thanks Matt (I wish I had a Bass Tracker, or some money for one). I have caught a few decent bass in the shade in the most populated parts of the lake during the heat of the day. Its kind of funny to paddle up to a spot right after some weekend warrior that almost swamped me in the main lake gets skunked, pulls away in frustration and sneak up on the bass that where waiting for the flies to buzz off. Aaahh, ha, ha, ha; the rewards of stealth and patience never seem to disappoint me! See ya on the lake and in the creeks.

    Re: Taylorsville? Spring?

I think I upset a couple of people about comparing Patoka to Ky and Barkley Lakes. That was not my intent. There is almost no comparison. You definately catch more and better fish at Ky and Barkely. But as far as locality to Lou, I have far better luck at Patoka than any other lake in this region. Catch a lot of fish at Rough and Nolin, but my size and numbers are far better than them two lakes. I'm not badmouthing either of the two. I just do far better at Patoka. As far as comparing Patoka to Ky and Barkely, I have had other people compare the three also. Patoka is definately under the two others. I'm just going off of my experiences and my opinions. Iv'e had a couple 100 fish days at Patoka.

    Remember it's just my opinion.
