well its just a little early to tell where the fish are goin to be, what they are going to hit and the depth that they will be at...the best advice i can give u right now is they should be on or coming on or off the bed and they should be pretty shallow.... get a good pair of polarized glasses and get up on the banks and look down i like to fish a floating worm during that time period... we all should be able to give more guidance on the bite closer to the time... but also try smalljaw.com they are a forum site like this one dedicated almost soley to fishing the hollow.... those guys should be able to help u more since they fish dale hollow alot more than i can...
Ryan-Thanks for the info.
Just looking for what has worked in the past for others. I know its a little early yet, but my vacation days where just approved and I am getting a little anxious.

i hear that... u gotta pre plan for the pre plan.... but if i was going there i would pick up some of them creme worms and some gamakatsu circle hooks and rig them wacky for that time of year... i also like texas rigged baby brush hogs and lizards... and i am goin to let u in on a secret to dale hollow... line diameter is a key factor in 5 fish or 20 fish... i wouldnt use nothing bigger than 12 lb flouro or any line for that matter they get finicky over the bigger line... i guess where the water is so clear they can see it........ when i fish the floating worm i like to use braid with about a 2 or 3 foot leader of 8 lb flouro tied together.... adn put fishermans glue on the knot.... i hope this helps and i am sure i will be lurking around the hollow then in april too and prolly before so i will help ya where i can...
Full moon in April is around the 10th and my guess is this will be the best of Mar, Apr, May spawning months so with April being in the middle should be the best of the three. The big girls should be following the channel lead in banks back to the pea gravel spawning areas and should be pretty aggressive at this time. Cranks, jerkbaits, flukes, even jigs and soft plastics will produce fish. use natural colors and keep the swimming baits moving as to not let the fish get too good a look at them in the clear water and hang on. Hope you and your son have a great trip.
Ryan/elnuts,
Thanks for the help. Procraft is my older brother and dabassking is my 16 Y/O son. I think my son is trying to be sarcastic. I just ordered 1/2 dozen silver buddies for the cold weather fishin.
I read most of the post for DH, to try and get any extra help.
great info! Thanks again.
