Dead on, brother! Wait till the love affair is over and everyone sees that he's a good speaker, but little else. Seems like every time you turn around, he's associated with some other shady character. But then again a lot of politicians are.

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest.
I decided we would have an election for a class president.
We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote. To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.
We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother.
The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first.
He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Everyone applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise.
She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down.
The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream." She surely could say more. She did not have to.
A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it? She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. amie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.
Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and fifty-two percent of the people reacted like nine year olds. They want ice cream.
The other forty-eight percent of us know we're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.
Dead on, brother! Wait till the love affair is over and everyone sees that he's a good speaker, but little else. Seems like every time you turn around, he's associated with some other shady character. But then again a lot of politicians are.
I guess McCain was the boy in the class that had all the right answers of how to help the class??? Yeah Right!
Your story didn't mention the dunce in the corner of the class that had served prior to the elections that that put the state of the classroom in such dissarray that it needed these improvements. Makes just as much sense as you comparing Obama to someone that offered up "ice-cream" to the country.
"Change" is the flavor of ice cream Obama was/is offering to this country. Just wait until the honeymoon is over and the real Obama comes out. He had an unholy motive for reaching out to the Muslims FIRST before he reached out to the very people who elected him. I hope I am wrong about the man but the only thing I have seen is that he can give a good speech. I also studied speech in college and I know the difference between a persuasive speech and an informative speech and can give you one that's as good as they get, TV cameras and crew included, but it doesn't qualify me to be President. Obama's problem is that his speeches are laced with promises that are only a concoction of bull dung. Long ago he became a part of an elitist group that is nothing more than a bunch of rich thugs and criminals. Almost every person he has appointed to cabinet positions have come from that circle of friends and are now being exposed for the crooks they are. Will the White House be full of them when all the appointments are made? Close.I guess McCain was the boy in the class that had all the right answers of how to help the class??? Yeah Right!

I've noticed that when anyone doesn't speak of Obama as if he is some celestial being, your skirt blows up over your head. What's the deal? We'll see who is right when he settles down and "the rubber hits the road."
I thought the interview he gave to Al-Arabiya was to try mend a few fences between the US and some Muslim countries and not some "unholy motive"(what ever you mean by that) as you call it."Change" is the flavor of ice cream Obama was/is offering to this country. Most of his appointments haven't wrinkled to many republican feathers and they are a lot more centerist than the last few presidents have made. (look at how many W's people he's kept around)
And I agree he's been in office for all of 12 days so let's wait and see how it all plays out.
You also didn't mention the two groups of dunces that are really the reason the state of the classroom is in such dissarray.I guess McCain was the boy in the class that had all the right answers of how to help the class??? Yeah Right!

If you mean Clinton and Carter, then I agree..........
Carter Created the CRA......Community rehibilitation Act......that allowed people who have NO business buying a house to BUY A HOUSE.....and then turn it into a CRACKHOUSE.......excellent.
AND Slick Willie...........well he renewed the MESSY GARBAGE........and added additional provisions making it even EASIER to buy a house without ever being able to afford it........
Why don't you get off the kick of blaming Bush for a little while and place BLAME where BLAME is due.........
Chris Dodd, and Barney Frank had a chance to fix this mess in 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007.........BUT they BOTH said it was fine. Don't believe me.......Check it out for yourself on youtube........
Look for CSPAN and Mortgage Crisis......AND Make sure look for the UNCUT CSPAN videos.
Or, you can go directly to CSPAN's website and get the uncut stuff, but man that crap is really BORING.
Later,
Geo
