Good thing she spawned a few times before passing on. I would like to see more shows on the California Lakes during the spawn and what these guys go through to get these Monsters.
Decent show! Would like to see more.
i have watched this and the one on snake heads twice already today both good shows. and dottie is a fish that will be missed. i wounder how much she weighed when she died.
Anybody have a copy of this show. I would like to watch it.
The Bass show & the Snakehead show are coming on again on Monday night (2-9-09). I went through & found the after reading this & have them set on to DVR.
Thank you for this post or I wouldn't have known anything about this.

Man thats a great point about the lower jaw. It pains me to see guys holding large fish horizontal and stressing their jaw.Dottie weighed within ounces of 19lbs, this was in Bassmaster not too long ago. Now, she looked like she had been dead for a while, so she may have lost some fluids and stuff like that I guess to make her lose some weight, or maybe she was just naturally dying, Ive heard bass lose weight in their last couple years. Even so, a 20lb bass can gain 2 or 3lbs in one feeding.
But my theory is that they couldve dislocated her lower jaw when she weighed 25lbs. I cringed when they clamped the scales to her lip to weigh her. Now I dont blame them, that fish was the biggest bass ever seen, but thats a lot of weight on that jaw.
Regardless, that was a great show.
I know these guys didn't do that I saw the show as well.
Ike does it to almost every bass he catches, watch him when he brings them into the boat screaming, Never Give Up!!, lol.
its not just ike it is most all the bass pro fisherman they lip them to get them in the boat some do the belly but they all go in the live well by there mouth with a clip on it. so if it is true then b.a.s.s should let the guys use nets. that way it is less stress on the fish. and i never thought of this so i will handle my bass diffrent now that i know it could hert theme.
