Seen a lot of movies that go just like this and the person who defends the problem like you have turn out to be the person who is introducing the problem to the public. I would cool it on bragging on these fish, some one might start watching you. LOL!!!!!!! Largemouth are also a exotic fish but it sure has been a big hit with a lot of people. Maybe we should look at these fish with a open mind, a 8ft mean fish with teeth would be a heck of a challenge to get in the boat and from what i have read these fish are excellent on the table
Am I introducing the problem or educating the public since all they see are the sensational news clips and so called "documentaries"? I do agree that we need to be open minded and make lemons out of lemonade (though 8ft is well more then twice the size of the largest on record) but fortunately its not even bad enough to make lemonade yet.

As for watching me? Heck they can watch me all they want. I will even invite them to my house to check all my tanks. Nothing nadda zip. I was on the phone just yesterday with a fellow from the Arkansas DNR discussing their little problem their plan of action. I may even go down there in March to help out and be there for the erradication of the population in the lower White River.

Largemouth bass are exotic? Exotic to where? They are not exotic to here in KY. They are west of the rockies however.

I am not defending the fish, the fish shouldnt be in our waters. I am simply trying to point out how much misinformation there is regarding an entire genus of fish. However, I think more resources and coverage should be put into orther organisims that have proven to be way more damaging then channa. Also I would like everyone to be able to tell the difference between a truely unique relic from the dinosaurs that is only found here in North America, the bowfin, from snakeheads. Remember its all in the anal fin...short anal fin = bowfin and anal fin about half the length of the dorsal = Channa!

Did anyone google image search some of the fish I listed? Beautiful arent they?

PS: If you think I am defending the fish like its my child...well lets just say I hope no one ever messes with my daughter cause that would light a fire under my ass!
