There are a lot of those in southern Florida in the lakes, if you have live shiners you can't keep them off of your line. They are extremely aggressive here is a video of how aggressive they are for those who don't know what one looks like.

I beleive you are thinking of Mud fish a type of burbot in Florida, they do look like a snakehead but are native and not imported like the snake head.
