White bass are suckers for in-line spinners such as roostertails, Mepps, Shysters, ect.
Also small leadhead grubs, small cranks, small jerkbaits.
When they are in the jumps on top almost any topwater bait will work just match the hatch on size and you'll be fine.
I've got a homemade pencil popper that a fellow fishin.com'er makes for me that is awesome. White bass litterally committ suicide on this bait, I've had them fight over it while I'm reeling one in.

Does anyone know when the white bass run usually starts on Herrington? I've heard it has had a good run in the past. Thanks in advance for any info.

I have fished the white bass run for the last five years at Herrington, and the past two years has not been as good as the past three years before that. There are just so many factors that affect the run each year that it would be hard for me to say what the problem is. I personally wish they would stock more white bass and hybrids in the lake than they do. I usually do well on small shad cranks which I think catches bigger fish.
