Was wondering if anyone used any bait attractants at Barren River Reservoir or maybe pre-scented/flavored soft plastics and had comments on how well they worked or didn't. Or maybe any comments on scents/flavors in general would be appreciated.

When I fish for large mouth and fishing soft pastics I usually dont use scent because the lures I use are already scented. Try using scent on a lure and none on the other and see what the catch rate is. I do use scent on most shad body lures I use wiper fishing, now in the spring that is a fish to me is not that picky I will take cooking oil and mix garlic with it and spray the lures with that. Smallmouth fishing if I use a scent it will be a crawl scent. And largemouth fishing if I use a scent it typically is Shad or Crawl sent.
I will throw soft plastics without the scent first. If the catch rate is low, then I will spray garlic on a few. If the catch picks up I will spray garlic in the bag to keep from spraying my clear coat with the aerosol. Aerosols are bad for the clear coat. Eats right through them.
garlic cooking spray

Bang , craw fish scent on all plastics. It works ask my partner .
Zoom or Yum or lake Fork brands have worked well for me.
i heard lime color spike-it dip. but i use some new stuff or kinda new stuff called mustad activate with pherotech. i like the gel put a little on your finger and rubb it on the bait it tends to stay on longer. but since i have used this stuff my catch rate has went up and the bass will inhell the bait and hold on to it. butt before i started useing that stuff i realy liked the bang garlic or crawfish spray depending on what i was throwing. and some times i will use both the activate & the bang spray. i fill you can never use to much scent.http://www.mustad.no/activate/start2.html
Can't go wrong with with Spike-It Garlic Chartreuse. Only put it on the tips of your lure (craw pinchers, worm tail) because if you use too much, the fish know something isn't right -- too much taste, smell, and color.
Thanks guys... I like seeing all the different opinions.... been meaning to try some of that spike it garlic dye
