He was that white i think because of the lake being muddy.I have caught bass in Mi while I was pike fishing with tip-ups and they are so green its hard too think that cold water makes them white.Just my thought.Terry Adolph![]()

I couldn't stand it any longer, I had to get on the water. Finally a warm day. I got things finished up for the weekend at the office last night for the weekend and headed off to Green River Lake today. I had planned on fishing a jig and flipping some since the lake was reported at 5 foot above summer pool. Drive across the bridge and the lake and river are froze. Go to holmes bend to put in and if was frozen solid. Drive around to ramp one and was able to put in. Headed towards the dam running along pretty good hoping to find some clearer water then thump, I am driving through at least an inch or two of ice. Turn around and go the other way - ICE. Only about two miles of fishable water today. Beautiful day despite all the ice. Managed one that weighed a little over 4 according to the ole berkey hand held. Caught it in a stake bed in about 6 foot of water. Hopefully this warmer weather will melt it all the next day or two. If you go be careful, watch out for the ice. And it is a mudhole. Check out how white that fish is - he was cold. He asked me for a cup of coffee and if I would let him sit in the boat to warm up for a while.

Way to go. I tried Cave Run last Sun. and ran in to the same problem with the ice. Would have loved to had a bite much less a 4lb. As for the color, muddy water or fish has been deep.

That was just based on what I learned in high school science class.... but I did graduate from Casey County High School![]()
The water clarity affects color on bass. He was definitely white. Hey Jeremy, did you get my PM?
Nice bass! Skin or scale pigmentation, in this case, is always affected by the extent of exposure to the sun, shorter days, less light, more reason to move deeper to even lower light conditions. Of course temp. shrivels everything, ha ha, pulling already lightly colored scales closer together. Think about it fellas, how lightly pigmented are we before we start hittin the water hard again during those long summer days! Oh man, I think something just jumped! The heat wave has arrived in Louisville, see ya on the water.
Nice fish man, its great that its nice enough for us to at least try and get out, today is really nice, and I saw about 5 boats on the way to work. Wont be long fella's and it will be that time again.
