A week ago I was talking with the sporting goods manager in a Walmart store about this very issue. I noticed more than half of the ammunition shelves were empty in the locked area. When I asked him what was going on and explained that I didn't see a a single box of .357 and .38 and certain other ammunition he said, "I think politics has almost stopped our shipments; we keep ordering but nothing is coming in." Then he went on to say that his store had not had one shipment of ammunition since the day of the presidential election back in November. He also told me that he knew of a place that had the ammo and was selling it at a price that is 50% higher than regular price.

If this is part of the "change" Obama has been talking about, we can do without it.

The Ammo is starting to roll in at different Walmarts around here but it's mainly .45 ,9mm some .380 and assorted rifle ammo.

Yep, ammo is finally starting to hit some Wally World shelves. Me and DJD stopped by the Wally in Nicholasville this afternoon and they had plenty of 9mm...and a couple boxes of .380...

I think that speculation, stocking up, hoarding, etc because of fears about what the current administration will do to gun and ammunition laws was the culprit here. Manufacturer's just could not keep up.

Most all of the online ammunition websites that I use (Cheaper than Dirt, Natchez, Midway USA, etc) have been out of nearly everything for awhile. I haven't been able to find a .380 except for sparse shipments coming into Wal-Mart...and that was only because DJD tipped me off that it had arrived and picked up a box for me!

Bought 500 rounds of Remington 9mm and 500 rounds of Remington .45 at ****'s Sporting Goods on a deal a couple of weeks ago...and caught a case of 9mm Blazer on the shelf at Wally last week...have plenty of .38 reloads already...22 seems plentiful in the CCI Mini Mags that I use...so .380 ACP had been the toughest nut to crack.

I purchased a Romanian "Guard" AKM-47 and Romanian RPK-47 Friday at 111 Gun Shop in S. Indiana and my freaking NICS was delayed! I have never been delayed. The guy at the shop told me that for like the last month they have been delaying nearly half of their customers for no reason. Anyone care to explain the reason behind that?

I knew they would go after guns but with all of the other ish that needs to be addressed first I am actually surprised to see this already being brought up. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it wont pass. Luckily there are several pro-gun dems in Congress that would like to get re-elected.

I will tell you one thing, I will NEVER register a gun. Heck, I rarely even by from FFLs cause I dont trust the form 4473. Any one seen Red Dawn lol.

But really, the second amendment is what makes our country so unique. We NEED to preserve it and the rest of our rights. The second amendment was not written by our founding fathers so we can shoot clay pigeons, hunt, and buy very expensive hole punchers. It was specifically put there for, "being necessary to the security of a free State" to protect our selves from enemies foreign AND domestic. The founding fathers knew that one day a time will come when we will once again have to fight an oppresive government and that we would not be able to do so if we are unarmed. No other western country has a population of civilians so armed that they would have a legitimate chance of over throwing the regime.

Guns and PEOPLE that are registered as gun owners would be the first victims of an oppressive regime. History has shown with the likes of Stalin, Hitler, and other dictators that the disarmament of its people is the FIRST step to power. The first step to disarmament is tracking the people that own the guns....registering and licensing is is JUST THAT! I am not comparing Obama to Hitler or Stalin and I dont think he wants to take over the country but legislation like this does lay a foundation for others to work on.

Also for your info we are one of the few states that have a FOID card and to not have a concealed carry law.

Tim thanks for the heads up I knew they were working on this but did not know the House Bill number I will keep up on this. We have a Chicago Democrat as the house leader he probably won't call it for a vote.
