Went for about 2 1/2 hrs this afternoon and there was still ice floating in several areas of the ponds and on the edges. Spent the 1st 1 1/2 hrs. fishing 1/2 ounce jig w/ pork trailer or shakyhead worm w/ NO bites. Last hour switched to a rattletrap and caught 1 and missed another....then switched to a large yellow/black beetlespin (best pond bait ever) and caught 2 more and lost a really nice one. The fish were suspended near the middle of the ponds right next to the floating ice chunks. Never thought I'd be dragging off the ice chunks like lilly pads to catch a bass. What a wonderful day to get out of the house after 2 weeks of hellish weather.
