Have you guys have had good luck with the spring bass bite at patoka? I've fished patoka several times, just not the spring (don't ask why) anyway i thought i would concentrate this spring at patoka, any words of wisdom would help?............................(65 degrees in febuary...priceless)
I always start out hitting the crappie but have made a commitment to catching some early bass this year. I too would welcome any advice.Have you guys have had good luck with the spring bass bite at patoka? have been there in march caught a few 2&3 lb on crankbait also in may great fishing top water and tube
I have had decent success fishing Jerk baits over the submerged weed beds & throwing plastics to the weeds, also working points w/ crankbaits. Good luck! Hopefully it gets decent for next weekend, I might get down there.
Since I have a smaller boat, main lake travel is limited. I usually stick to the river and Painter's Creek. For me, there really isn't any one bait that's any better than the other. Just kind of depends on the time of year, of day, and so on. Just use what you are confident in. Like everyone, I have my little tricks and confidence baits that work for me. But the one thing that I have the most and best luck in up there, is that I stay shallow year around for the most part. I have caught hogs in less than a foot of water in 80 deg. water. I catch enough good fish to keep me smiling big. Good luck.
