How about: "Rod and Reel"; "Bait and Tackle"; "Gone and Fishing"; Casting and Spinning; "Van Dam and Zona"

I used Maxx for my Dog,(Yamaha V-Maxx). Mercury was another option. If they are little dogs Popper would work.

We have a Max too. My dog passed away a few weeks ago, and during the ice storm we opened the door and a golden retriever ran into our house. It was our neighbors, who do very little with the dog - when it is outside it is chained to a tree - and we have thought of taking it several times - when they came to get it they told us they were going to try to get rid of it. I told them right away I wanted hime - a 2 year old registered golden, that is great around everyone from infants to adults. He just needed a little training, and in about a week, he is the one of the best behaved dogs I have been around.

He came with a name - but I had it in my head that I was going to name my next dog Bill Dance or Hank Parker - So I can say "I'm going fishing with Bill Dance today" I also like Loomis, Bandit, and Saint (croix). You could also go with Ike, but he will be destined to have behavior problems.

You could name one of them "Rigger". When you want him to sit, you can say "Down, Rigger."

    Kevin,
Sorry to hear about your dog man. I know it tore me up when ole' Big Ben passed. It's a tough deal to go through.
You can't beat Labs and Goldens for all around good natured pets. Maxx is a Black Lab just like Ben was. I love that Breed.

I agree Ike might be unfair to name your dog because all he will do is bark loudly, breakdance and keep his head in his nether regions.

Hank or Parker would be good names for a dog. But OOhhh SON don't forget about Roland Martin!! All the fish will be 8lbs or better.

    Re: fishing type names

My dad has a Maxx now, Hoss before that. When he saw em' he said "Come here little Hoss," and that was that. Lets just say ol' Hoss dog was the alpha male type and got ol' yeller'd. When I found out what was going down I desperately tried to reach pop in ND but it was already to late. Tragic. I must say that Maxx is by far the most good tempered dog I have encountered for a good bit. Little trouble figuring out where the ducks come from but he is finally catching on. Both where labs Hoss brown, and Maxx black. I reccomend Hoss, like the motion used to turn a monster from cover, or to refer to said monster after getting an unadulterated view of her magnificent girth.
