Going to a different part of KY Lake

Hey guys! We are making the first trip of the year down to KY in March. Normally, we stay in Grand Rivers but this year I am looking at either Blood River or Cypress Bay. I have found a place that looks good enough in Cypress Springs Resort. I just wanted to get your opinions on places in the Blood River area. I've looked at Irwin Cobb and we don't really need a cabin. A hotel room atmosphere is all we need meaning the less $$$ the better.

Stayed at Irvin Cobb in Nov. Small cottage but adequate and close to the water. They even have a covered dock to park you boat in. I would recommend.

I like the irvin cobb stuff too. It seems it was designed for fisherman. I really love fishing the Paris area - not much further south than blood, and they have several hotel type resorts down there. After the Ice storm, I am recomending Paris state park resort. They were giving $50 rooms and three buffet meals a day for people seeking some refuge, or a place to sleep and shower with power- which is much better than any other hotel that I know of offered.

I live near the north end of the lake So I am kind of partial to that area, especially in March. Kenlake state park has a nice hotel and good food. It is just north of Blood River (just south of the 68 bridge).

Thanks for the replies. I think we're gonna go with Cypress Springs Resort based on the fact it is $35/night cheaper. We'll probably drive and launch a day or two in Blood River. Freezer space, a slip for your boat and a restaurant all for $50/night, we can work with that.
