I heard a song for the first time today on my satellite radio on the way home...it's by John Rich...called "Shuttin' Detroit Down."

Shuttin' Detroit Down
Written By: John Rich
My daddy taught me that in this country everyone’s the same
You work hard for your dollar and you never pass the blame
When it don’t go your way
Now I see all these big shots whinin’ on my evening news
About how they’re losin’ billions and how it’s up to me and you
To come running to the rescue
Well pardon me if I don’t shed a tear ‘cause they’re selling make believe
And we don’t buy that here
Cause in the real world there shutting Detroit down
While the boss man takes his bonus pay and jets out of town/
And DC’s bailing out the bankers as the farmers auction ground,
Yeah while they’re living it up on Wall Street in that New York City town,
Here in the real world there shuttin’ Detroit down.
They’re shuttin’ Detroit down.”
Well that old man’s been workin’ in that plant most all of his life
Now his pension plan’s been cut in half and he can’t afford to die
And it’s a crying shame, ‘cause he ain’t the one to blame
When I look down and see his caloused hands,
Let me tell you friend it gets me fightin’ mad
Cause in the real world there shutting Detroit down
While the boss man takes his bonus pay and jets out of town/
And DC’s bailing out the bankers as the farmers auction ground,
Yeah while they’re living it up on Wall Street in that New York City town,
Here in the real world there shuttin’ Detroit down.
They’re shuttin’ Detroit down.”
Instrumental solo
Yeah while there’ living it up on Wall Street in that New York City town
Here in the real world there shuttin’ Detroit down
Here in the real world there shuttin’ Detroit down
In the real world they’re shuttin Detroit down, they’re shuttin’ Detroit down.

I love it to Brian, awesome lyrics indeed.
Yes I've heard that song. I like it for the most part. As for the auto makers, I'm thinking I might buy Ford. I have never owned a Ford, but as long as they dont go to the Gov. with a hand out, I would support them.
Got 2 Blue Ovals sitting in my driveway and both are excellent vehicles...
My wife's Edge (07) has been flawless (knock on wood), is a solid driving little vehicle, quiet, smooth, plenty of power, very comfortable. Zero trips back to the dealer for issues, only oil changes and tire rotations so far. She likes it better than any vehicle she has had in the past.
My F150 (06) had an electrical issue with a BCM that went bad right after I bought it (simple fix), but aside from that little hiccup it has been awesome. I've owned Chevy trucks, Dodge trucks, and now Ford trucks...there were things I liked about each, but I'm pretty happy with my Ford. The plan, if I can stick by it, is to pay this sucker off in time and keep it for the long haul - No car payment.
