    CR Help?!

CR fishermen I'm about to float my first REAL trip next weekend. First time this fall we skidded most of the way but still did some good. Just wondering what to throw this time of year and if it was diff from this fall? Pin Minnow? Power bait? rooster tails? anything will help. Rock house to Winfrey's?

I just need to catch a couple fish and enjoy the view.

I have only been back over to the CR once since they opened the flood gates in December, but we had some luck that one trip on bouncing worms along the bottom. We also caught some on pin minnows, in-line spinners (panther martin is my favorite), and powerbait. Throw any of these and you'll get into some. Good luck and be safe.

    Re: CR Help?!

Just got home from the river, had a pretty good weekend catching 7-10 sauger just below Wolf Creek Dam on 3" white grub w/ jighead and rapala cranks. Also got into some trout a litttle further downstream. The main bait I used for trout was a blue fox spinner #1 with a red blade and hook. I caught 4 on it in about an hour and we were just wading. You should have a pretty good time if youre boating and are lucky enough to fish more areas of the river. Worms along the bottom will be effective as well as in-line spinners. The water still isnt clear and has some color but if the trout see your bait they are biting pretty good. Good luck and let us know how it goes, I am in the process of getting a boat and am looking forward to fishing the Winfreys-Rock House area as I have heard so much about it but haven't got to fish it just yet.
