I was down there this past weekend, and there is plenty of trees now laying into the water from the ice storm. I fished the north end of the lake, so I can't say for sure about the area you will be in.

I would try and go in mid to late March - you have a much larger population of black crappie, and they spawn a whole lot sooner...plus you might get a cheaper room in March.

Looking at those water temps, the black crappie shouldn't be too far off from doing their thing...
I would go late March / early April, but no way would I go any later than mid April if crappie is what you are after. I find them much easier to catch this time of year.
Thanks for all the info guys. Alot of good info and alot to think about. Ill be sure to watch the reports and mater temp. the durn weather is so unpredictable and that time of year it can be 70 for a week and then sonw?!?!?! Go figure. but thats fishing for ya. Thanks again
