i was wonder how fast does a trolling motor go in MPH i have a 8 ft unlce buck pond powler![]()
GPS will let you know.
I have a 107lb thrust on my Ranger, and I think I could pull a skier on mine, if you put it on high, you better hold on, cause it will throw you overboard if you arent paying attention.
I use a 24 volt 80 lbs. thrust minn kota on a 17.5 ft procraft. does a great job and will get me where i want to go in a heck of a hurry! not sure bout mph but i will check now cause this has made me curious
Depends on how many lbs. thrust your trolling motor is. I fish out of a 9' similar style boat and only have 36lb. thrust motor right now....its easier than paddling but I never take it anywhere except small resevoirs and creeks. If i had to guess, i'd say my deal goes no faster than 7-10 mph, but its only a guesstimate.
I've got a 30 lb. thrust on a 17' aluminum semi-V duck hunting/crappie fishing boat, it's mounted to the stern and works very well. I use it for sneaking up on ducks back in the bays, pockets, and rivers. Normal load is 4 guys, a couple dozen decoys, and sometimes a dog.
For an 8' boat, I would think a 30 lbs. thrust would be all you need.
