i am going down the last of march also. we have been for the last 10 or 12 years.it can be good & it can be tough.i usually throw rattle traps, shallow running crankbaits, lizards & spinnerbaits.we usually fish flats with grass on them . the pro's make it look easy i wish it was that easy .its a lot of fun when you find the fish you can usually load the boat.where are you all staying at?

We are staying at the Days Inn in Scottsboro. Maybe we can meet up, and you can show me how to catch them!

You can expect nice cool temps in the Am warming up towards noon and slaying the fish all day long or you can have great weather and struggle to find them at all. Also there may be a cold front like two years ago when it was like 40 degress and 30 mph winds that mad life a living he-- on the water. The weather may start out great and get better or vis versa. Will be there the same time as Ranger19 staying in the same area he is. Fish traps in the grass, dead ringers and c-rig lizards have all worked every year for us. Don't forget peecock color senkos if you can find them. One year that is all we could catch them on and then the next year I bout 25 packs. I still have 24 left ...LOL Good luck and you'll have a blast.

Fish around the islands up around scottsboro and you'll do fine.

We have been to the "Big G" for the past few years at the end of March and it is really hit or miss. Weather is allways key down there. Rattletraps and Senko (Watermellon/ Candy) have been our best producers. Will be there this year from the 26th thru 31st and staying at Goose Pond Colony in a cabin. Good luck to you.

Fish there every year either last week of March or first week of April. If I had to pick one bait, it would be a lizard (T-rigged with a tiny sinker). If I was allowed to pick two more, it would be a trap and a topwater (I never seem to do any good with buzzbaits at G-ville but can do very well with a walk-the-dog topwater).

Thanks for the tips, I am hoping to catch a personal best out of a major lake, 5lb 13oz, and it is the lake to do it on.

The one time I went to Lake G-Ville, I caught some really nice bass on a +16 Norman Peacock colored crankbait.....

But don't be surprised if you catch crappie tipping the scales at 2lbs. plus at times as well.......
