    plapps auction

Did anyone go to the plapps auction, my friend is a courier that delivered there. He called me the day of the auction and told me the lot was overflowing with cars. Just curious if the items auctioned off went cheap or top dollar.

Can't do business that way. Old saying goes, "you reap what you sow." Have heard he's looking at some time in jail.

Have talked to a few that went. Place was packed with dealers looking to pick up bulk parts/props/ odds and ends cheap. No real good deals for people like us, most of the tackle that was left was stuff that had been picked over to death.

What happened to Plapps? I remember reading this board when he was treated almost like a King... It was long ago, before I joined.

Now he's treated like the crook that he is. Hope some big dude in prison treats him real nice too.

Seems they were taking in all kinds of stuff on consigment and not paying the seller once the boat sold - several stories similar to this. They also seemed to have a problem taking boats in on trade, and not paying of the balance of the traded boat (people would be hit with paments for new boat and traded boat). Hopefully the courts will straighten out the mess and make it right for everyone. I think they just dug themselves a financial hole they couldn't get out of, and unfortunately, many of their customers became the victim.

I was told years ago he had an insurance bis, and went out of bis, somebody tried to file a claim because there house burnt down and the owners found out they werenot going to get there money, he did not go to jail over it but did loose his insurance license from the state. Basically the same thing I will take your money rather than pay you or your boat off I think I will spend it on something else.
