i am tryin to save u some trouble if u read up u cant carry in walmart and a pistol cannot be carried in a vehicle unless it is in the glove box... if u have it laying in the seat adn a police officer sees it.. you might not like his response and or the fine... and if u have a concealed carry and get pulled i would give them your permit with your liscense cause when they run your license they are going to be unhappy that u didnt tell them about the gun.. whether u are carrying that day or not... its a matter of respect to the officer.... its totally up to u on what u do i am just sayin from what they told me to do when i took my carry concealed class....

Ryan you are correct! People that tell me they have a gun in the car, it goes much easer for them. I have had some pretty intense times when they don't; and it is for no reason. My personal policy is if you don't lie you don't get a ticket or go to jail. That is almost all of the time, about most stuff (sometimes the law says we have too no matter what). When you try to cover up and LIE I tend to get a little ticked off and reciprocate. Ryan

I have no reason to carry a concealed weapon. When I do have my pistol in the vechicle, its in a locked case, unloaded, with the three magazines next to it.The rifles, in a case unloaded in plain sight. Also have a sticker on the rear window of the truck, but in any case, I never leave them unwatched while they are in transport.

Re: My old neighborhood makes the news

Ive open carried at walmart, nothing ILLEGAL about that.

Personally I would never tell an officer of my weapon if I got pulled over while carrying concealed with a permit. If he asks for my weapon I will tell him I do not have it on me. If he asks me for permission to search my vehicle, permission will NOT be granted. (learned that from my cousins who are K-9 handlers) In KY we NEVER have to notify the officer of our weapon(s).

Too many officers, especially here in Louisville, get too gun scared (maybe rightfully so) so what they dont know wont hurt them. After all its not ME they have to worry about! I will remain calm and courteous a I know they have one HECK of a stressful job.

Heck the only time I ever got pulled over I had two AKs in my car and 2,000K plus rounds of ammo. I was down in Albany trying to get to my friends B&B (at the airport there) and ended up getting lost. It was past 1AM when the officer pulled me over doing about 10 over. When he walked up he noticed both AKMs and the ammo and about a half dozen fishing rods (little car) and said, "yall look like yall having fun this weekend!" he took the usual info wrote a ticket, gave me directions and sent me on my way. Not once did he mention the weapons again. Id like to see that happen in Louisville!

That's pretty much why I got mine. I also wanted it for when I ride the motorcycle around. Some of those trips lead to places the have you at a disadvantage if someone or some people want to mess with you. Seriously doubt if I'll carry at any other time.

Well if the guy wants to car jack me, fine, by the time he gets the pepper spray out of his eyes, I'll be locked and loaded.

You know this is a sad state of affairs, when you need to carry a firearm to protect your self or your property.there are times when I NEED to take a pistol with me, when I go to some launch ramp, because of the people who use those same ramps to commit crimes against others propeerty. When you turn in suspicious activity, your told it will be checked on, usually it is, once!So now you are in a position where you think you need to take steps to protect your self. Is it worth it?If you shoot someone, you will be charged, even if you are proven innocent, the cost of a trialis staggering. What did you gain? You went froma concerned citizen to a suspected felon, because, the law that you thought would keep you and your propert safe, is a lot of cases going to try to make you a criminal. It happens!Theres a ramp on lilly creek on cumberland where I almsy became a criminal, I fired four or five shots into the air, when I seen someone tampering with my truck, they took off, before i got my boat out of the water, there was a cruiser. The cop listened to my story, and told me tyo get out of there right away, I was wrong, and right. He said he wouldn't use that ramp, and he is a local. What would have happened if barney fife was the cop? So who reported the shots. Ill never know, but was told some of these thuga were much armed than I was.

THERE are so many cases of motorists being KILLED after spraying pepper spray at someone........

AND it doesn't work on crackheads, meth heads, pcp users, bipolar people, etc, etc, etc, etc...........

No, if I'm in that situation, and my life is in danger..........maybe even if it is NOT in danger, the only thing I'm spraying that sorry SOB with is Lots, and LOTS of HOT LEAD.

Go ahead and use your pepper spray.......

    Later,

    Geo

Just one thing.A good criminal lawyer charges about 350 bucks an hour, and thats before trial. Then theres civil suits, brought on by the wronged partys family, or the "wronged" themselves. So the right tp bear arms has a cost, if you choose to use it. The tide has turned to the criminals favoe it seems. But is it better than the alternative?

Actually, the castle doctrine has stopped a lot of those law suits. It is my understanding it even protects you in your car. Now shooting someone who is breaking into your truck while you are not occupying it is a completely different story.
