Re: Whining about Kim (Bain) Moore......

i would have liked to see kim place alot higher than she did to prove a point that she can run with the big dogs.... i didnt like what a few of the pros said about her... i mean come on if u are the female toyota angler of the year then shoot yeah she should be able to fish... i think them old guys were just worried that she might beat them.... can u imagine what would have been said if she came out and won that thing......

I thought about this when I was watching the interviews the other day and I think it's simple. Play by the rules.
I know it bites but I would not like it one bit if I had toured the Elite series, payed the money, missed my family, played the game as it was layed out to me and missed the cut by one spot and then they allowed another series (that I couldn't fish) to send a fisherman it would piss me off. Just follow the rules.....
She is easy on the eyes.

From this woman's point of view, there should never be a place for women (or men) who can't qualify based on their fishing skills. I knew Mr. Scott, creator of BASSMASTERS, and he would be rolling over if he knew someone had degraded BASS that much. It was intended to be fair-and-square across the board.

It's not like a woman can't learn the skills and ability that it takes to enter a tournament, nor is it as if she has to run a mile carrying a boat and trailer on her back to qualify. If she is going to go out there to compete, let her EARN her spot just like the men do. jmo

Exactly the way I see it. Play by the rules, I mean it's not Football or some other sport that takes 250lb athletes to compete. Sure it's taxing on a tourny angler but it's equally taxing for young adults, women and men. I'm sure it would mean more to the Woman who actually makes it oneday by coming through the qualifing ranks on equal terms. JMO

One thing for certain is that the fish cannot tell the gender (unless it is on other fish)!

She should have to earn her spot like everyone else. Why should she be given a spot. If she wants to fish in the classic, get in a series and qualify. Nobody should be given a spot, Rick Clunn wouln't take the easy way and get in. He went out and earned his way in.

She didn't earn her spot fishing against the same competition. She was fishin against other women. Thats not the same thing. Her spot was created to get a woman to fish in the classic. She did have to win that to qualify. But no one can say she qualified like the rest of the field.
