Plenty of blame to go around, not just Dem's or pub's. I just hope Obama can help steer us in the right direction. He seems to be making more of a bi-partison effort than the last several presidents. I am just like the rest of you on here, I have my fingers crossed for something positive to happen.


I am with Tyme on the Octomom. Why not go ahead and take them to raise- we are going to pay for them either way.

I also thought Nancy was going to pull something from jumping up and down so fast - that entertained me throughout most of it. I think she was competing with a few others in the room to be the first on her feet. I think she won. LOL!

Was Joe Biden playing tetris on his phone, or was he texting someone - did anyone else notice this?

Overall, I thought it was OK. If it weren't for the standing ovation after every sentence, I would have probably enjoyed it more.

I agree that standing junk is for the birds and very distracting. We were wondering if they had Medical Staff in the House to help some of these old polly's as they did more exercise last night than in the past year!

I saw a few who exercised their lips by kissing the buttocks of Barry!

You do remember that a lot of the debt that is out there today came from many areas some before Bush was elected. Katrina and 9-11 which no one had a choice about. The war on terror which BOTH parties backed until they discovered that the war would not be over in just a few weeks or months.

I am not saying that I liked Bush. I can not say that I like any of our political leaders today.

And yes we had debt but not like we are going to have. In a few years we will have a new pres and he will be saying that the debt was there before he got into office.

Yes it is a time for change! I hope that I can say that I was wrong about Obama in a few years but I think he is nuts!

I do not know anyone who thinks that the stimulus - Bail Out will work. They keep spending money that does not belong to them in ways that I think most americans do not like.

Watched it start to finish. The man is truly a charismatic and gifted orator, certainly as good as there's ever been in my lifetime. Sounded like a campaign speech to me. Very long on promises and very short on detail.

He and his party are using America's desperation to grow the government's control of our lives, and increase it's spending by 30%. An absolutely staggering increase in the federal government's power, and it's not going to be pretty when the bills come due. Mr. Obama is selling the idea that the top 2% of earners will pay for all of this, but the math just isn't there.

The continued stock market tumble speaks volumes to me. Those with the most money in the game don't believe in President Obama, or his merry band of clueless bill authors.

Trillions of dollars of spending HAS to be paid for eventually, and my fear is it'll be the normal working people like myself who get stuck with the tab.

One question to the liberals on here. I remember y'all scoffing when Mr. Bush sent us a check. Twice. Will we see the same derisive reaction this time, or is it the right thing to do now that it's coming from a Democrat president?

I have wondered what would follow from one of his speaches if he was positive ONE TIME. The sky has been falling in everyone. The doom and gloom coming from this president will eventually have to stop. He has PREACHED his fear campaigne from the beginning. As long as he keeps telling people how bad it is and how bad it was when he "inherited" it; It will never change. I would like to hear a positive speech with some clear directives on how they (DEMS) are going to make it better. This so called stimulus; he passed the buck. He told them to come up with something around $800 billion so they did. For the last 12 to 15 years the DEMs have been trying to get several billiion $'s in PORK passed. Our man OBAMA told them the fear tactics will get everything they have wanted in ONE BIG PACKAGE. GUESS WHAT HE DID. Done rambling

Things are going exactly the way all the Gop and Independants feared. I bet that some of the Dem party that are more Conservative than others will realize that they messed up backing this group of fools.
Barry is doing anything he wants regardless of what he promised in his campaign and by appointing so many left wing nut jobs to his cabinet he has basically put or placed the seeds for destruction of the USA as we know it today. Free speech and the right to bear arms have already been attacked and this doofus has only been President for a few short weeks! Add to that scare tactics, Fuzzy math and an endless thirst for bigger Gubment and you get the idea of whats coming.
