    Question Fishin.com get-together???

Now that Elnuts has finished flirting with nurses and swearing off hospital food for a few years, is there any plans for a summer get together? Gas is cheap again and I think most of you would enjoy a Saturday of fishing, drinking pop and telling lies. I think Jim planned the past ones but I'm not sure and to be honest, I don't know where he stands with the board anymore. If he isn't on here anymore, Someone that knows most of the folks on here and is a pretty good organizer should think about it( a moderator or senior member), I would help as much as possible, even do the grilling while everyone else fishes!! I THINK I could get some or most of the meat ( Hamburgers and Dogs?) donated . This would be a hoot. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have a big pull behind cooker and cook pull-pork bbq on the side for an additional hobby, would like to put faces with some of these names. We will have to keep it small because my smoker will only hold about 400 lbs at one time. Also if it was at waters edge somebody would have to have a empty back seat because I can't find a trolling motor that will pull the grill!!!!!!

Yeah - this comes up all the time and at the last minute everyone backs out and 3 people show up and have a lot of food on their hands.

I agree with those statements but most of the guys drive a few hrs to fish anyway so why not on something like this? It's impossible to accommodate everyone on times and lakes. 400lbs of meat in 1 cooker, what you got a kitchen on that trailer?? Just a thought, maybe something can come of it in the future.

OK, so we need to look in the crystal ball and find a nasty dreary day that no-one wants to fish and hold it indoors, far from water.
Sounds like a great idea, hope it comes together. Have it somewhere where the kids or grandkids can be involved, showed off, bragged about etc.. Everybody loves doing that.
    Seriously, hope it works out.

The only way to do this and not have what Dave spoke of is not to have it near a lake at all. Yes, I'm serious a get together is not a bass tournament and if you try to coincide the two you are kidding yourself. Pick a meeting hall venue collect money ahead of time if enough proceeds are collected then proceed with function, if not refund everyone's money that did pay in. Then come and enjoy food, fellowship, adult beverage drinking, lie telling, back slapping, plan making, friend making fun. Leave the poles at home, you will never do both successfully I all but guarantee it. If you want to meet people and put names with faces this is how to do it boys. Besides I love to eat barbecue and drink Miller Lites and I would help with work and the monitary cost of this, but I'm not interseted in get together / bass tourney, just my two cents. That barbecue thing has got my mouth watering.........

That would be the best way imo. Somehwere as centrally located as possible. Maybe a park or someone who has a big farm or something.
