Absolutely love to fish. I would rather fish than to eat when I'm hungry. Couldn't imagine any other sport getting me fired up like fishing.

I have gone through phases when it comes to fishing. Being a kid fishing was frantic, often and I was easily impressed. Then, there was a time when fishing mean't everything, I mean before work, after work and weekends. Then the Bass tournys started and I got into that with a fury which mean't spending money like it was going out of style but I did get a hint of not enjoying the fishing like I used to but I pushed through it because I wanted to be a Pro. Many years later I sold the bassboat and just started fishing local tourny's and we had a child so things changed.
Now I go fishing to enjoy the total experience with my daughter, friends or family. Catching is always good but doesn't ruin my trip like it did years ago. I still fish small tourny's like the Pond Hoppers but it's fun, inexpensive and I enjoy all the fisherman on that trail. To put it in perspective...fishing is now a great way to enjoy the outdoors, life and what God has given us all and that means the world to me.

I am ate up with anything having to do with fishing. I now build balsa crankbaits, spinnerbaits, airbrush crankbait blanks, build my own fishing rods. I was brought up fishing by my grandpa and my dad. Everytime they went, I wanted to tag along with them. I plan to do more fishing this year than last. I worked on a lot of honey projects last year, plus gas prices were high. Looking forward to this spring. Got a trip planned for Watts Bar Lake in TN in mid April, for bass and crappie. Plan on hitting the lakes and river up here in No.KY in the next couple of weeks, can't wait!! I tournament fish some. I fished the USA Bassin trail, Brookville Div and have fished the Fishers of Men, No Ky division for 5 years. Love it!!

It is a way for my son and I to get out on the water, talk, have fun, goof off, and let him know that this is our bond that can never be broken!

It is indeed a family affair. Pop and Grandpop used to take me fishin' when I was little, anyone else used to have one of those midget zebco starter deals? I caught what at the time was probably a six or eight pound channel cat out of Grandpa's pond on it and I was hooked for life. Now I take my little cuz and I'm teaching him how to operate the tackle while he teachs me about patience. Fair trade. Maybe if we're lucky one day when we're fishing together he'll land ol' one eye...I wonder how big he has gotten by now.

P.S. My girlfriend is also jealous of fishing.

I'm ate up! Some days and nights I think it's more of a curse. It consumes my thoughts when I don't want it to. It has kept me up at night. I have stayed up fishing ALL night more than a few times. I've jumped 5 fences and blacked out to fish horse farm ponds. I've fished countless days from daylight til dark (12-14 hours). It crosses my mind every day.

This time of year is real bad. My wife is well aware that pre spawn is close at hand. I have been plotting my fishing plans for the past 30 days. A full day here and a half day there... I need my fix!!!

There's too much fishing to do and not enough time!

It is absolutely everything to me. I litterally told my wife before we got married 20 years ago to NEVER EVER ask me to pick between her and my fishing because she may not like the outcome. She never has, God Bless her. It is what keeps me sane, and I'm serious. I'd rather fish than anything and yes I do mean anything.

Yes , its everything to me to. Its bad to say but I have put my fishin before my family,I told my wife before we got married that I fished before I met her and I will continue to do that, she was not going to stop me. Like mhall says: I don't know how she puts up with me. I am blessed. When we where looking for a new house I wasn't going to purchase one with out a garage to put the boat in. I won !

my wife said i am ate up with it butt like some one else said it keeps me sain. ther is nothing like being on the water to clear your head. and my son is 6 and he is worse then me i think he ask momma more then me to go fishin. so my wife has two of us in the house to dill with. some times out of no where he will yell at me and act like he is setting the hook and reeling in and tell me he has a big bass and to get the net. so now i do the same to him. the sad thing is that i have a 2 year old that tries to act like his brother so soon she will have three in the house. plus my doughter who is also six likes to go and watch and help get what we need and if there are worms or minnows in the boat she will get them to. she loves worms odd for a little girl but she is a doughter of a fisherman.

I don't let it consume me, But..... When it's time to fish IT'S TIME TO FISH, I am like a buck in rut right now. There is nothing I would trade for the moments my son and I have had on the water, we've talked everything from girls to cars and then one day our whole day was talking about God and how we should be thankfull for our gifts.... we took third winning us our first check as a team and second big bass.

It is a Zen like feeling to go out and enjoy the gifts we have been given, ever been out just before dusk and the shad are popping for the final time that day? and you are casually throwing a popper, sammy, spook and or buzzbait, the sun is lighting up the colors in the sky before it disapears, you can just see you line/bait and yet you don't have to rush home - no work tomorrow.... wouldn't trade those moments for the world.

The minute my line twitches and I set the hook everything wrong in life disappears and it is just me and that fish in an arm wrestling match. I love it.
