I am old enough to remember when you could walk all the way around Geist and Morse and Never be trespassing on a homeowners property. The way I heard it was when the Water Co. aquired the property for both G&M, part of the agreement was that houses were never to be built on either reservoir. BUT, some big wigs at the Water Co. formed a Corporation (if memory serves me I think it was Shorwood Corp.) and started buying property from the WC (water company) around the lakes. Because the land no longer was owned by the W C, they were able to develope it and all became very rich.
Urban legend or fact? You research it.
