This is the very first time that i have ever been skunked at dale hollow. I had one bite. The water temp was anywhere from 44 to 50. But yet no fish. But oh well it was a great day to be out on the lake.

Well that stinks to hear!! I have the FOM on Dale this weekend, actually leaving tomorrow late afternoon for Sat. morning launch, and have NEVER been on the water thereI was hoping to catch something the first time there, but if you vet's of the place are getting skunked, I might be DEAD Saturday. I was gonna ask for help since we can't pre-fish it this week, but I don't know enough about ANY waters here to help others, so its not real fair to ask when I cannot really "give" any help in return.
Hope it gets better for you next time brother, and hope I DON'T get skunked trying to find a place to fish Saturday...lol

hey dont feel too bad had a tourny there last weekend and had one bite and missed it no fish in two days arghhhhhhhhhh
Well don't feel too bad, last year on 1st Club tournament had no fish, no bites and was completely drained. Fished in the rain for about 8 hours and it just wasn't my cup of tea. Heard all the great reports about Dale Hollow being so great to fish, but they forgot to tell the fish I was coming. But then again the fish must have gotten word that I was fishing the tournament and got a case of lock jaw big time....Didn't want me ripping their jaws off when I set the hook....lol![]()
yeah i've been going there for years and never been skunked. But dale hollow in the winter isn't too good but in the spring summer and fall it is absolutely an amazing fishery. It is by far my favorite place to fish, and is by far my favorite lake. So cra97 dont think its a bad fishery if you dont catch anything, Just go in the spring summer and fall and like i said its amazing, it produces some of the biggest smallies in the country. Actually it still holds the world record biggest smallmouth ever caught in america. So try it in the warm seasons and you'll love it too.
