Problems with Depth Finder

I have a eagle depth finder. It seems not to be reading. It comes on but it constantly show 0.5 ft. How would I go about fixing this. I made sure it was connected and all.

is your transducer on the trolling motor or thru hull or off the back of the boat?

yea i had the same problem a couple years ago and it was the transducer

You can go to the manufacturere's website and get the reset sequence. I had a prob with mine a couplle of years ago and i just did like a master reset and it has been working great since.

Sounds like the transducer is shot. You might try to find a feature in the menu that can let you set the depths, but in my opinion it sounds like the transducer needs to be replaced. Also, make sure the depthfinder isn't in demo mode.......

Thanks guys. The transducer is on the back of the boat. It didn't work for the longest time, would come on or anything. We finally got it on and just shows the screen I explained. I will try your guys comments. Thanks again.
