    "
To qualify for the state record fish program, fish must be caught by sport fishing methods only and be verified by a state fisheries biologist. Fish need to be weighed on a scale certified for legal trade. Applications for the program are available from the Kentucky State Record Fish Program, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, #1 Sportsman's Lane, Frankfort, KY 40601, 1-800-858-1549, District Fisheries Offices, or downloadable below. The forms must be completed in full, signed and returned to Frankfort."

If you think you have a state record, I'd be calling every wildlife department number you could find to make sure you are doing it right. I believe it is quite a process. Take the fish to a store near the lake with legal scales and contact fish and wildlife. Better safe than sorry.

    Re: state record

That in the back of the fishing rules book the Dept of Fish/Wildlife put out is not a certification for state records, it is just an award for trophy fish that meet those requirements, that is something of a master angler thing, like Know 1 stated, you must get it verified and documented, it would be best if and when fish was caught keep it alive and call a game warden or call KDFW ASAP and get to nearest dock. Good luck

After you weigh it, call BPS in Clarksville, and they will come get it, take it to their store, and keep it in the tank, so you will always be able to go see her, and brag about it.

c'mon wishn, leave it in the lake for someone else. Maybe a young angler will get a hold of it and be hooked for life.

    Re: state record

If i ever got one of that statute, I would take a dozen pics and then send the pics to the bass pro shop. I heard that they can make a exact replica of the fish. it would be better plus you get it a chance to get bigger.
