I'm ducking out of the office early today to go (around 2:00). It's a little bit cooler today but the winds are gone. Will report back tomorrow!

Fished KY Lake Saturday from noon til dark caught about 15 short fish and missed 2 good ones, the wind on the East side was unbelievable the waves weren't rollers they were like water mountains you had to climb. Sunday we fished from 2pm til 7pm had rain coming in sideways yet we caught about 24/25 fish with 3 keepers that went close to 13lbs combined, there was a 20# sack weighed in all caught south of the Kenlake area, we had decided to stay North and found a bank on fire! We caught 'em before the rain - during the rain and after the rain it was a good time - once we dried out.

Hit Dale Hollow this weekend Sat. 2 smallies both on float-n-fly. 3 1/4 and 3 3/4#. Sunday had 5 fish by 1pm and left to come home. 2 spots on shiners and 3 smallies 2 fnf and 1 on a shiner. Smallies went 3lb 10oz, 3lb 8oz, and 2lb 12oz. Wind was horrible and water temps were anywhere from 44 to 49 up in some creeks. All fish released to play again later!

You now I assumed it was a wiper, didn't look to far into it, may have been a stripe about 15inch fish. I was way up the patoka river, anyway ready to get back out, sounds like you still haf a good time on ken lake.

Re: Well, how did everyone do?

Fished KY Friday, Barkley Saturday/Sunday and in the process took my daily wind beatings. I love the big lakes but they can be painful to fish in wind like that.

Friday fished KY caught 10 - 12 short fish one keeper on jerk baits with one bonus 10 lb drum on a tube. Fish were on rocky / gravel points near deeper water. Temp was 43 - 47 on my graph and water was in good shape slightly murky (for KY).

Sat at Barkley caught 30 - 35 short fish 2 keepers with one 4 lbs. Most came on 4" bass grub with some on jerk/crank bait. Water temp was 47 - 50 and Barkley was a good color slightly murkier than KY. Fish were in the bays mostly outer points and creek channel banks and many came off wood.

Sunday at Barkley fished about 4 hours caught 20 or so with 4 keepers with best 5.5 lbs. Jerk baits and grub again and saw water up to 52. Also fiddled around and caught 8 or 10 crappie on jigs that were on the small side in a bay where there was a decent sheltered channel bank. Found some bass a littler further back in the bays on Sunday.

The wind was really rough all three days but there is nothing more fun than launching solo in 2 - 3 foot swells. I need to do a better job of picking ramps next time!

Re: Well, how did everyone do?

Got out yesterday and fished 2:15 til dark. Fished Ellerslie here in Lexington. Water temps were anywhere from 57-61. My buddy stuck and broke off a 5 pounder on his first pitch with a jig. Ouch!!! He was ticked that he broke off a toad on his first cast of the day. Anyway, we tried a number of things and managed 2 LM. One about 3 and one about 12". Both came from the same laydown about 30 seconds apart.
