Wow! Haven't heard of it being that low for I don't know how long! Hope that doesn't affect my crappie hole!

The lake is lowered 7' for repairs to the dam. The work is scheduled to be wrapped up by the first of next week. At that point they would close the gates and they expect the water to be back to normal pool around the first of April.

Thanks for the info SBB! Glad to hear things will be back to normal by the first of April...........here's another question. Can you still launch a boat up there right now? I'd like to get out while the lake is low.

The gate is usually set to open 24/7 with the right combination of money. Used to be quarters but I think they upgraded to accept dollar bills. Been a while since I've had to use the automatic gate. Anyway, if you can get in it should be fine. I've launched when the water was lower than this before. You'll want to use the far ramp, the one closest to Rick's Cafe' as that one has the quickest drop into the deepest water.

The "night gate" does work w/ $2 in quarters. I just didn't know if the low water would allow a guy to launch off the ramp.

    Thanks for the info

    Re: Eagle Creek Reservoir

my first post; joined the forum last week. i went out to eagle creek over the weekend to scout the lake while it was low. there were a few other boats out too. it's nice to be able to see some of the structure. i'm not soo good with reading my electronics so it's nice to be able to see why some of my good fishing spots were so good.

saw some catfish spawning (i think). I don't kow if now is spawning time for catfish, but I saw them north of the bridge in 1-2 ft breaking the water. I caught one with a jig. also, there were kids standing on the point near the sailing club cove.

I'm sure there are still some wipers in there but the state has not stocked them for a number of yrs. They are stocking walleye now though.

I used to burn 4-5 lb wipers out there all the time. The shad population is outragoues I bowfish the east end up by 65.(BTW the latfatette rd bridge is GONE road is closed and they are putting in a new bridge.)Good white bass and smaller wipers up the creek if you can stand the run.I usually put in my canoe at us 50 and go up from there a mile or so when the water is up.Going there tomarrow aftenoon to take advantage of the lower water to crappie fish.some good channel/timber jig fishing going on now if you have the patience to drift it out.
