Back from Ky Lake

Fished on Ky Lake today for about 5 hrs. I caught a NICE Smallie that weighed 5-3. That fish made the day for me. We had a good day despite the winds. Caught 17 fish all together. 3 keeper Smallies and 3 keeper LM while the rest were dinks, But man did the big Smallie get my adrenaline going..

I'm kicking myself for not getting out yesterday. I wouldn't have been able to get out until about four today, and i'm glad i didn't - the wind was howling this afternoon. I will later this week, but I will probably need to get my coat back out of the closet.

Definitely a good day to be out despite the wind...I was doing a tourney prep so I did not sit on fish very long today....catch one two and move....we had about 3 limits and numerous short fish...I lost two big ones early also and a few more came unbuttoned during the day. Best fish was a little over 5lbs but I did get a 4lb smallie also. Best 5 around 19 lbs but could have done better if we had stayed on a few of the spots...but can't do that when tourney preppping...lol. Love days like today.

Way to wear them out Dave!!!! Maybe one day i will have a day like that, My best 5 only went about 14 lbs. It was just my 2nd day on the lake this year and it was nice to get back into the groove

Sounds like it would have been good to be on ken lake. Are these fishing chasing lures or r u slowing down finessing them so to speak to catch them?

I used jerkbaits early then switched to crankbaits and rattle traps later in the day.
