I was just wondering if anyone has heard of anyone catching fish on topwater or has caught fish on topwater lures. Please let me know. I know its probably still too early but i was just wondering.

I've caught buzz bait fish in 48 degree water temps but it was post cold frontal. Fish have to be up and committed to spawning. Then it doesn't matter what the temp does, they will still be shallow, and can be caught on top.
i had 2 on a buzzbait sun at a pond
I caught a few foot longs at Cherokee Pond last Sunday at dusk on a silver Panther-Martin 1/16th oz. Held the first one of the year up against the sunset and immortalized it. Best wallpaper ever!
Nothing beats a topwater bait in the shallows. I fish Zara Spook and Rebel Pop R 80% of the time in shallow water (1-4 ft depth). I caught my biggest largemouth (10½ lbs) on a Spook in 3 ft of water in LaRue County. I consistently catch 4 lb+ bass most of the year. When the topwater baits aren't working, I switch to a Okiebug spinner bait and that takes up the slack. Early Spring is also a great time to fish the buzz baits....I prefer the Gatorbug made by Okiebug Lures (company now defunct but I have a LOT of their lures).
