Still think Memphis got hosed. After all Uconn finished the season 4-3 without Dyson and he's not coming back is he? And the selection committee guy mentioned injuries to key players moved a few teams down a notch or two, notably UNC from the overall #1 seed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as smitten as a kitten with UNC's bracket draw. It's just the say one thing do another that bugs me.

I really have no proble with the seeding but the one thing that stuck out to me as a bit unfair was Villanova getting to play in Philly.

No sour grapes here, congrats to the Big East

Tar Heels did get a nice road for sure, and earned and deserved I might add.

On Mike and Mike a little while ago they said Lunardi nailed the entire field with the exception of Arizona. Pretty impressive and Arizona has as much business being in as UK would have.

If North Carolina would have won the ACC tournament, I assume they would have been the number one over all seed.

BTW, did you guys realize that this is the first time in the history of U of L basketball that they have ever been number one in either of the two major polls?

It's just awesome Tim, this team has over achieved bigtime. Heck if they check out in the second round I'll be disappointed but still darn proud of this team and what they have accomplished. Of course that is deemed by some as chest pumping and trash talk, lol, I'm just enjoying this year and riding it for all it's worth. Go Cards!

I really don't feel that they overachieved. I thought at the end of last season that if we could Samardo developed that they had a shot at the national title. Now id certainly didn't expect to lose to WKU, Minn or UNLV, but I also didn't expect to get through the Big East with only two losses either. I am extremely excited about the No.1 ranking and hope that they are number one in the AP poll this afternoon, just because they have not done it before. The ground work is laid to start having seasons like this often. The recruiting has been off the charts the last few years.

    Why do teams switch conferences?

Several reasons come into play here sometimes Don. In Louisville's case it was for football. The Big East is a BCS school and can contend for a National title, they had virtually no shot at all at that in conference USA. Also Pitino had lobbied for this since his arrival because he wanted to coach again in what he feels is the premeir league in college basketball. And he gets to go to alot of destinations that he loves and enjoys.

The reason my over achieved comment was made was I never dreamed Louisville could go through the Big East this year with only two losses. Even Ricky P though we would have five to six losses because of the strength of the league. You are right about recruiting we have 4 top 50 players heading this way next year. Siva is a top ten player ranked the number 4 guard from last years crop. This years team is only solidifying the year after this one for even more top recruits. Pitino is starting to build a serious pipeline for five star players, it's nice to b Card fan right now.

Thanks Mark, I was thinking it was competition or money about the b-ball but never considered the football angle.
