Re: Dave what's big fish in your boat so far

Dave did not mention the State Record Smallie that one of his clients had on a few years back before KY re-instated the Hayes 11-15 fish. Dave swears that this was the new State record, which I believe was a bit over 9 at the time but client, LDR'd this fish (Long Distanced Released).

Have had a number of big ones get away from us....of course most people have at one time or another....most times we don't see them, they just freight train you and they are gone. This particular time that Woody is talking about, the fish was actually on my line which was not the usual because I rarely fish while guiding unless I am doing a tourney prep trip. On this trip I had a client that insisted that I fish with him which does happen on occassion and I definitely had a monster brownie on for quite a while...got a very good look at her...been searching for that fish all my life....and she got away...maybe one day I will find her again.

Re: Dave what's big fish in your boat so far

While I do not see any joy in your losing the "dream fish", it is nice to know (since I have it happen all the time to me) that even Pro's lose them once in a while. And for the record, I put you in that group ABOVE the "pro's" we watch on the TV. They can all fish, no doubt, but many of them are just using the information provided to them by, the REAL pro's in my opinion, you guides that work the lakes daily. It still takes skill to do what they do, but I would LOVE to see you throw in on a BIG tourney on KY Lake and SMASH some of the ego's I see. It might actually humble some of these guys who have lost sight of the "grass roots anglers" come back down to earth and share time with us that support their living. Just my two cents though. Hope you get that one back Dave, if anyone deserves it, its elnut...I mean YOU

Re: Dave what's big fish in your boat so far

Dave's boat certainly has more days on the water than mine and no doubt there are some big brownfish in the twin lakes but my boat has more days on Dale and I truly believe they are bigger there. It might even out the odds of either of us catching a 9 or 10 pound GIANT Smallie but I have no problem in Dave catching her for he has more than helped me out in not only learning the twin lakes but more importantly became a pretty good friend in the process.

Unhappy Re: Dave what's big fish in your boat so far

Dave that fish, was she in Sugar? I had one straighten the hooks out on a dd22 in The Fishers Of Men Nationals in 2005. We seen her up close about a foot from the net when she took off.

For a LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW, did I mention LOW, price of $500 per, I will tell you exactly where Mr. Stewart showed me where the big girl was hooked. I take all major credit cards, personal checks with 2 forms of ID plus it has to be signed in your own blood for DNA purposes just in case, plus Paypal but most desired form of payments is 5, count them 5 Ben Franklins. Send me the 5 Ben's, in a self addressed stamped envolope and I will send back the GPS coordinates of the location the big girl was hooked. Surely she is still around there somewhere. First 10 that submit their greenbacks will even get the exact location on Dale of where I hooked my guaranteed 8+ pounder as a bonus. Hurry up, get your cash to me and make sure you are not #11
