I usually get a cabin at Kentucky lake but want to try camping. I want to find a place where I can pull up the boat at night to charge the batteries and sleep in a tent next to or close to the boat. Are there places like that? I appreciate any tips

Most LBL campgrounds will be closed all season..........from what I understand.
There are tons of other places to stay........but I don't think camping is in for this year.

Hey you can pull your boat right up to your tent ,,and charge your batteries ,,if you have a generator,,all over the LBL FOR $20 A year
The campgrounds are more per night ?/ $18 to 2? a night if open
SO,,GEO,, What's up with campgrounds
Tim
Actually some of the campgrounds are opening tomorrow. You can get an update on which campgrounds are open at the lbl website at www.lbl.org
We liked energy lake! no you cant charge your battery at the lake, but at your site might no be a problem, there is a good ramp at the camp ground for barkely, energy is a no wake lake, and part of it might be closed for water fowl, but we used to trailer camp there, and I used a small boat, And it was one heck of a LMB trip, caught8 in an hour, but that was in late october.

Thanks Dave.............
Guys........sorry for the mis-information. When I was down there 2 weeks ago, the visitor center said they didn't expect any back country stuff to be open all year.
I guess they have been able to clean up more than expected.

George your exactly right...a couple weeks ago that was the plan..but they got some of the money the government is handing out to jump start more jobs and they used it to hire folks to clean up the mess from the ice storm...otherwise the areas would still be closed.
