    Talking Taylorsville, when?

Ok does anyone know when KDFW will put the bass back in Taylorsville? Went yesterday under the most ideal conditions and nothing. I believe once they put the bass back in the lake then the shad population will get reduced. lol It was still nice to get out yesterday in spite of the stingy lake.

Ain't gonna happen, according to creel survey's Taylorsville is chocked full of bass. Personally I think they should drain it and start over, lol. A serious shad Kill shoild be looked at for this lake. There is just a stupid amount od shad for such a small body of water.

    Re: Taylorsville, when?

I was at Taylorsville today (Wednesday 18th). We caught 5 fish total with one 17" keeper. 3 caught on green tube jig and 2 on small shallow running crank baits. The fish we caught were 4 to 6 feet off the bank in 8 to 10 feet of water on rocky banks. I fished down the lake from the **** on a main lake bank facing the sun. All these fish came on one bank in a 100 yard span. They are there is you find them.

Hope that helps. Taylorsville can be hard at times but keep casting.

Stanley , you sly dog you, Thats not the kind of reports we need to hear.........We need the ones that say there are no fish in the lake, helps keep the number of fishermen down.........Good job though.

Sorry there Swift1, I thought I would spread some good news about Taylorsville for a change. I also have trouble, at times, catching fish there. I have never caught a 5 fish keeper limit. I still want to take you out and let you show me how you do it.

how about everyone with a castnets and 55 gallon barrels take 5 minutes filling the barrels with shad and maybe put a dent in the shad population. not sure what to do with the shad when we get them but im sure we could think of something. just a thought

For the record there are NO bass in T-ville!! Everyone stay far, far away!!
I do agree that they do need to do something with the shad population, some of those things are huge.

I'd love to see KYFW stock more Hybrid/White Bass and Blues to help further errata them shad. The green Bass are just to fat and happy. The casting net idea is a good one. Area farmers would love free fertilizer and possibly cat fisherman would love extra dead then frozen shad for cut bait all summer long.

I'll be there in the morning but don't worry, if history is any indicator I'm not likely to harm the fishery there, unless our boat is leaking oil. I might take down a couple more tree limbs though...

    Re: Taylorsville, when?

I headr rumours that there once was a bass caught at Taylorsville, but I wasn't there to actually witness it so I don't know. I have to agree, everyone should stay off Taylorsville. Save your time and go elsewhere.
