1st time striper fishing. Need help!

I'm a guide on Cumberland and I'm not trying to drum up cheap business for myself, but you'll be money ahead if you hire a guide and tell him up front that you want a tutorial on striper fishing basics. It will save you enormous amounts of time on the learning curve. There are lots of good guides on this lake, pick one out that sounds good to you and ask questions. You will be money ahead and learn more if you go out with a guide the first time. You can learn the what,when and where as well as what(hopefully) active fish look like on a graph.

I agree the guide thing would be the way I would go personally. His accountant goes with a group of guys every year. They know the lake and they know how and where to do the fishing. We are invitees only and I wouldn't turn down a free fishing trip. Crappie is my fish but I'm sure I'll be hooked on stripers too. I also don't wanna show up unprepared. I'm told everything supplied except personal gear! Just need to know what gear you guys are using. JoeB I will definitely keep you in mind when I do (my trips).
