Sure they do. For example, someone gives me a few pointers on a lake I've never fished. If I go and catch nothing, I can still PM them back with lake conditions, temps, general info on the structure I fished, what I threw, and the times I was at the lake. May be other info like few boats out, a bunch of boats out, if I saw/heard of others catching.

    Re: PM messaging

I agree with Andrew on this subject. I've gotten some useful information from a couple of guys on here...mainly through PM, but still as I sit here today I have been unable to hit any of places they mentioned...and this has been over a year ago. My "problem" with not sharing nothing in return is that I've simply been to busy at work to get any quality fishing time in. I'm hoping that's about to change here soon though. I also agree that sharing things about a lake shouldn't be done on the threads...not when it comes to certain parts of a lake anyway, a good fishin' hole or whatever...but as far as general information is concerned I'm all for sharing it, such as water color and temperature, air temperature, time of day, bait/method used, etc..

Mhall...did you consider asking the guys straight up something like: "Do what, you mean to tell me I told you where you coud go, what you could throw and you're not willing to tell me anything about how you did in return, then what kind of scumbag are you anyway?" Or something along these lines. Then again it could be like someone else here mentioned, the old deadbeat dad syndrome.

    Re: PM messaging

While I understand the issues being dealt with in the circumstances mentioned, I am going to continue to post, like I started last week after this came up the last time, information I can on here and just hope people will share with me in the future (by post, pm, e-mail or whatever they feel comfortable with). The thing I will NEVER do is give out a location that someone gave me to fish out of the kindness of their heart. I will NOT share that kind of information because it is not mine to give away in my opinion.
Anyway, if you are looking for info on Barren or Green River I will have a post up on Monday on what I can give you all, but don't expect to much on Barren as I don't know much at all about it and expect I am just donating in this tourney. Take care and good luck guys.

Some folks are just plain jerks. What can you do. One very kind person on here told me very specific info on a good spot. When I do get to fish it, of course he will be the first to know, if he isn't there. Too much crap in something as simple and relaxing as fishing. Of course, I dont do tourneys and such. In that respect, giving the winning edge could be a bad thing. I just dont understand the drama over "worm" + "hook" = fish. I know I am over simplifying it, but come on guys, were supposed to be adults in an adult world.
    Have a great week. Tommy.

    Re: PM messaging

My help on this matter was if I didn't know anything about a certain body of water I always would inform the person I was asking up front. Then if they gave me info I in return would give info about a lake they might need help with...Like I get info for Rough and I give info for Nolin.....

Some guys treat it like it is top secret stuff out on the water.I have come to understand that Elnut could fish a spot and catch a 5 pounder using a dropshot and then I roll up same spot 2 hours later use a shakey head and catch nothing.(sorry to use Elnut as an example lot of respect for you)I have been fishing a club tourny since 04 and I can count on one hand the people that are willing to help you out.Goes the same on here as well I geuss.

    Re: PM messaging

The only real help I need is figuring out how I don't have to work so much...if I could figure that out I could easily figure the fish out for it would just be a matter of time, lol..
