    It is open. Crappie are being caught up in the creeks on jigs and minnows.

    From what I've heard, up to now .... Crappie at GRL are on fire, but running on the small size ... for the most part. I don't know if this means the big ones have already come and gone (though I doubt it) ... or if the lake is just full of sublegal sized fish. I never fished the Holmes Bend area, all that much ... and when I did fish GRL, I fished between the dam & Robinson Creek area. When I got into Crappie spawning in that area, it was usually mid April or thereabouts.
    This rain & cold spell may run them back out deeper, but if they're trying to nest ... they won't go far. Post a report, if you go ... always interested in hearing about what the Crappie are doing around the state.
