Got off work at 11:30 today and ready to go. My buddy and I were headed to fish KY River. We drove over it on 27 and it looked muddy so we kept driving. We decided to hit Herrington. Man, that was a bad move! We caught on 10" spot, period. A guy at the launch ramp told us they were catching lots of crappie and whites yesterday. Found out later that they pulled the lake a bunch last night. What a drag... It seemed everyone else was having a tough go at it as well.

went to ky river yesterday muddy but headed to creek between lock 1 and 2 had 8 keepers biggest being 3.75 creek was nice and green and 52 to 57 good day
Only could get two hours in on Elkhorn yesterday. Caught 4. The larger 2 came from deep pools, 2 smaller ones closer to current breaks. Used an X-rap exclusively.
I fish Herrington somewhat, and my father-in-law and I run the KY-11 Division of USA Bassin on Herrington. Believe me, there are some big fish being caught. Our last tournament had 2 fish over 5lbs weighed in. It was a miserable day, cold and rainy all day long. I'm sure that more would have been weighed in if not for the weather and the turnout.Got off work at 11:30 today and ready to go. My buddy and I were headed to fish KY River. They are pulling the heck out of the lake right now, and I haven't heard a reason why yet. There are so many boats and docks tied up that are on the rock ledges right now. With the drought situation we had last year on Herrington (it was all mud under the old Chenault Bridge) you would think they might leave the water level up a little. Oh well, not my decision to make.
Before the weigh-in, a young man showed us a Spotted that he had caught that was around 4lbs.
We loaded at Bryants and went up.
I'm waiting to put up a good report. It's been a tough spring so far. Maybe my April 9-11 Dale Hollow trip will turn the tide. That is unless jcb gets me on some creek fish between now and then... hint hint...
I went to Herrington with my new boat on Sunday just to find out that the water pump is out. Fished for about four hours trolling around Chimney Rock no wake area and had three hits but no hook-ups. All I caught was a sunburn. Replacing the water pump this weekend and will hit the lake again the first week of April. It was a major bummer but it was nice to get out.
The bigger fish are being caught around mid-lake......
