Apparently what I am about to write about has already been shot down, but I will guarantee you that it or something similar will come up again SOON.

I heard on the news last night and again this morning that the Obama Administration wanted to MAKE WOUNDED SOLDIERS AND VETERANS pay for their own health insurance and or health care to relieve the VA of the problem and save billions of dollars (that they could then use to bail out more companies or use to help illegal immigrants). The part in parrins is my editorializing.

After cries of outrage from the DAV, VFW, AMVETS, PVA, MOAA. TREA and others, they backed off already. However, as I said, I will guarantee you that they will try again. This is not a military/veteran friendly administration, for that matter they are not friendly to anyone that has any money that can be taxed.

In a previous thread on this page, I told of how the Congressional Budget Office was recommending cuts to Tricare and Tricare for Life and I recommned that all military retirees join the Military officers Association of America (MOAA) or The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA) because these organizations, along with the DAV, PVA, AMVETS, PVA, etc., are going to need all of the members they can get to represent so show the Administration and Congress they should find money in other ways than on the backs of wounded soldiers, Veterans and Retirees.

Below is copied from that previous thread:

From what I have read/seen, the Military Officers Association of America and The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA) are gearing up to lobby Congress to prevent cuts in our earned benefits. Anyone that knows anything about Lobbying Congress, knows that the more members an organization has, the more likely a Congressman/Senator is to listen. The old saying STRENGTH IN NUMBERS was never more appropriate then it is in Lobbying.

If you are not already a member of one of these, I strongly recommend that you visit the appropriate website below and join ASAP. The cost of membership is nothing compared to what you may loose if our Tricare benefits get cut or eliminated. Besides, both organizations have great monthly magazines and a bunch of other member benefits. Check them out and look over their website at:

One last thing, both of these organizations will ask you, and all its members, to write/email the President, your Congressman and Senators to help prevent cuts to Tricare. I personally think that writing an actual letter is better than email, but no matter how you do it, please write to them.

The TREA website has a option to send emails to your representatives and as far as I can tell, you don’t have to be a member to use it. First click on the TREA website above, then look under the LEGISLATIVE ACTION CENTER and you will see a place to enter your ZIP code, enter it and click on GO. You will get the name and picture of the President, Congressman and Senators, which you can then email separately or send one email to all of them.

Please consider joinging as many military service organizqations as you are able to as they will all need our help to save our earned benefits. THIS FIGHT IS JUST STARTING, THERE WILL BE MANY MORE SUCH TRIES IN THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.
